Arkansas Biofuels Alliance

Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board
The Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board consists of soybean producers nominated by various producer organizations within Arkansas and appointed by the governor. Although board members contribute many hours of their time to administering the program, they serve without pay. The goal of the board is to improve the profitability of soybean production in Arkansas. Funds are used primarily for research and Extension projects conducted University of Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service. Although this site mainly has information for the soy farmer, it also has an updated list of Arkansas Biodiesel Suppliers.

AgSTAR
A voluntary effort jointly sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Energy. The program encourages the use of methane recovery (biogas) technologies at the confined animal feeding operations that manage manure as liquids or slurries. These technologies reduce methane emissions while achieving other environmental benefits.

AgSTAR Handbook and Software is a comprehensive manual developed to provide guidance on developing biogas technology at commercial farms. The handbook also contains FarmWare, an expert decision support software package that can be used to conduct prefeasability assessments.

Ground-Breaking Biodiesel Tax Incentive Passes
The American Soybean Association (ASA), the National Biodiesel Board (NBB), soybean farmers and thousands of other biodiesel enthusiasts are celebrating today following the U.S. Senate’s approval of the first biodiesel tax incentive. Congress passed the incentive as part of H.R. 4520, legislation concerning the Foreign Sales Corporation/ Extraterritorial Income Tax (FSC/ETI), also known as the American JOBS Creation Act of 2004.
